ABOUT US

The Paradigm Belief

We believe that the public must be protected from the hazards associated with earthquakes by constructing buildings with predictable performance and restrained nonstructural components.

We believe the key element to achieve our philosophy is an efficient engineering service.

Corporate Experience:

Paradigm Engineering Inc. was incorporated in 2007. The founder of Paradigm Engineering Inc. is Amir Mohseni, who is a senior structural engineer with over 25 years of experience. Amir Mohseni is the lead engineer and one of the key personnel in Paradigm Engineering Inc. He has been working in the seismic evaluation of nonstructural components (OFCs) field since the year 2000. He has extensive knowledge and experience in this area. He is the chair of the Western Group for the national standard CSA S832-14 (Seismic risk reduction of operational and functional components of buildings. Amir has worked closely with leaders and authorities in the seismic mitigation of nonstructural components.

Corporate Capability:

On average Paradigm Engineering Inc. works with 50 clients per year in the following subjects:

  1. Seismic risk assessment of operational and functional components (OFCs) in existing post disaster buildings, as well as, buildings and industrial facilities with other importance factors or performance objectives.
  2.  Seismic restraint analysis/design and drafting for operational and functional components (OFCs) in existing buildings and industrial facilities, as well as, new constructions.
  3. Seismic mitigation cost estimation for fabrication and installation of seismic restraints for operational and functional components (OFCs).
  4.  Analysis and design of seismic restraints for restraint manufactures and suppliers.
  5. In-house software development for seismic risk assessment of operational and functional components (OFCs).
  6.  Publication of papers and presentations in seismic risk reduction of operational and functional components (OFCs).
  7.  Collaborations with UBC (University of British Columbia) on research projects. The current office of the Paradigm Engineering Inc. is located in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada.
